As a professional racing driver with a passionate background in classic car restoration, Reece’s interests and pursuits perfectly align with Cordings’ values of heritage, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of quality. From international racing circuits to hands-on craftsmanship, his journey reflects the commitment to tradition and adventure that defines Cordings.
A Decade of Racing Excellence
Reece Barr’s career in motorsport began over a decade ago and has been marked by a steady climb through the competitive ranks, from early touring car victories to his recent accomplishments in GT racing. Reece entered competitive racing in 2012, taking the Irish Championship Karting circuit by storm. These formative years laid a strong foundation, nurturing his skills and resilience on the track. By 2017, he had become the Vice and Rookie Champion in the Mini Challenge JCW with Excelr8, showcasing his exceptional driving talent to the racing community.
From there, Reece ventured into international circuits. In 2018, he joined TCR Europe, competing for Target Competition and Hyundai. The following years saw him embracing the thrill of Porsche Carrera Cup races across Germany and North America with teams like Forch and JDX, gaining critical experience in competitive high-stakes environments.
Notably, in 2021, Reece joined Honda as a development driver, a role that reflects both his technical expertise and ability to refine performance at the cutting edge. Reece’s drive to succeed only accelerated; in 2023, he took on the International GTOpen with Mercedes AMG GT3, and today he races in the GTWC Sprint series for Winward Racing in the Mercedes AMG GT3.
Beyond the Track: Classic Cars and High-Adrenaline Pursuits
Racing is only one part of Reece’s story. Outside of the high-speed circuits, he channels his passion for precision and craftsmanship into his private classic car restoration business. This venture is not only a testament to his love for automotive history but also a commitment to preserving the legacy and beauty of classic vehicles. Reece approaches his restoration work with the same attention to detail and high standards that define his racing career, making his partnership with Cordings, a brand with a deep appreciation for heritage, feel like a natural fit.
In addition, Reece is an aviation enthusiast, currently training to obtain his private pilot’s license—a goal that speaks to his adventurous spirit and love for adrenaline-fueled activities. When he’s not on the racetrack or restoring cars, Reece can be found mountain biking or rock climbing, further demonstrating his dedication to fitness and the adventurous lifestyle that motivates him on and off the track.
